Alpe di Siusi
Alpe di Siusi (German Seiser Alm, Ladin Mont Seuc) is the highest mountain pasture in Europe, and it’s dominated by the symbols of South Tyrol, the Sciliar (German: Schlerngebiet) massif. The mountain resorts on the Alpe di Siusi are: Castelrotto (German: Kastelruth, Ladin Ciastel), the most painted village in South Tyrol and one of its most famous mountain resorts; Fié allo Sciliar (German: Völs am Schlern), a famous mountains holidays destination and also known for its gastronomic festivals; Siusi (German: Seis am Schlern), ideal for family holidays in Italy. Alpe di Siusi in winter is part of the “Dolomiti Superski” ski zone and offers ideal ski runs for families, as they are large and easy. The Italian ski champion Denise Karbon learnt how to ski in Castelrotto, on the Marinzen ski run; it’s open three times a week in the evening, for the most passionate ski fans!
